This success certainly cannot be separated from the role of Howard Schultz. Starbucks was founded by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Baker. The interesting thing to know is that Howard Schultz was originally just an employee and eventually became the owner of Starbucks.
Howard Schultz was born in Brooklyn, New York, the United States on July 19, 1953. Howard Schultz was born to a poor family, namely, his father worked as a low-income truck driver. Since the age of 12, Howard Schultz has worked as a newspaper more delivery. Four years later Howard Schultz worked as a shopkeeper.
Howard Schultz did not continue his education in college because of economic factors. But because of his good talent in football, he finally got a soccer scholarship from Northern Michigan University in 1970.
Howard Schultz got a Bachelor of Science degree in communication in 1975, then he worked at Xerox Corporation by serving as a sales representative. Howard Schultz also worked at a Hammarplast company from Sweden. The company is engaged in the sale of coffee making equipment.
From working in the field, Howard Schultz was finally interested in coffee. Seeing Starbucks as a customer, he then asked Starbucks founder to work at the place. Howard Schultz served as Starbucks marketing director.
Howard Schultz finally made a breakthrough for Starbucks to change the concept of a coffee shop to be like a restaurant where buyers can relax enjoying their coffee. A few years later, Starbucks management decided to sell the Starbucks business unit to Howard Schultz with a value of 3.8 million US dollars.
Then Howard Schultz worked hard to expand the network of Starbucks coffee shops throughout the United States. On June 26, 1992, Starbucks was officially on the stock exchange, making Howard Schultz’s wealth continue to increase. Currently, Starbucks has grown and is almost in every country in the world.
